The Scheveningen Pier has been chosen as the venue for all the festival activities (milongas and workshops). The pier consists of a completely covered pedestrian promenade with an open pedestrian deck above it and two islands at the end.
The first pier in Scheveningen, was opened by Prince Hendrik on 6 May 1901. At the end of the promenade there was an octagonal pavilion in which 1200 visitors could enjoy musical performances, theater performances and acrobatics. The Pier is considered as an icon on the coast and has a stunning view over the North Sea and the 11 kilometers beach of Scheveningen.
